In April 2023, Hubei Clinical Medical Research Center of Infectious Dermatology relying on our hospital was rated excellent in the performance appraisal of provincial clinical medical research centers in 2022. The assessment is mainly carried out from the clinical scientific research projects undertaken by the center, the promotion and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, platform construction and personnel training, management and operation, and adopts a strict form of quantitative scoring. Only 12 of the 81 provincial clinical medical research centers in the province that participated in the performance assessment won this honor, which is also after the center won the provincial examination in 2021, it once again stood out in the homogenization evaluation of clinical research created by many superior disciplines in provincial and ministerial level and municipal hospitals with excellent results!

Hubei Infectious Dermatology Clinical Medical Research Center, founded in 2007, is the first provincial-level scientific and technological innovation platform in the field of dermatology recognized in the province. The center adheres to the road of integrated intensive development of medical treatment, scientific research, teaching and personnel training, and builds a domestic advanced, regional leading, industry-university-research integrated dermatology medical research center. On this basis, the Department of Dermatology successfully established the Hubei Key Laboratory of Skin Infection and Immunity in 2022, providing a high-level basic research platform for the exploration of infectious skin diseases and immune mechanisms.

Focusing on the hot spots and difficulties in the field of skin infection and immunity, the center has carried out in-depth research in the fields of fungi, mycobacterium tuberculosis, HPV infection, psoriasis, artificial intelligence diagnosis of skin imaging, and made the following progress: The precise monitoring system for biological targeted therapy of immune dermatosis developed by Professor Chen Liuqing, director of the Center, was successfully selected into the innovation group of Hubei Natural Science Foundation; In inflammatory skin diseases, the construction of multimodal disease mathematical model of interfacial dermatitis and artificial intelligence recognition have achieved a milestone breakthrough. To reveal the clinical features and strain distribution of tinea capitis cases in Wuhan and the surrounding areas of Hubei province in recent 3 years. A new mechanism of mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and host interaction was discovered. In close collaboration with the Royal Karolinska Institute in Sweden, the Center has identified genetic changes in keratinocytes as the initiating factor for psoriasis. The research results have been published in 26 international authoritative journals in the field of dermatology such as JAAD and BJD. 11 vertical research projects were approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Hubei Province, the Science and Technology Innovation Fund of Wuhan Science and Technology Bureau, and the Research fund of Wuhan Health Commission.

Aiming at the major clinical needs of disease prevention and control in this field, the center led by Professor Duan Yiqun, technical consultant of dermatology, formulated four national standards, laying a solid foundation for the establishment of disease diagnosis and treatment norms and efficacy evaluation system. Professor Chen Liuqing and Professor Zeng Xianyu participated in the formulation of 5 national guidelines and expert consensus. Relying on the platform of the National Clinical Medical Research Center, the center has become a demonstration unit of the national collaboration network for psoriasis and Type 2 inflammatory skin diseases and a leading unit of the regional medical Association, forming a collaborative innovation system for clinical research and diagnosis and treatment at the provincial, city and county levels. Carried out 4 national multi-center and international cohort research projects, and undertook 22 drug/device clinical trials and horizontal projects. On the basis of the construction of the original sub-centers, the collaborative network innovation of the Dermatology alliance of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the "8+1" urban circle in Wuhan will be further strengthened. Through the selection of experts and business backbone to the grass-roots units, to point and surface radiation to lead. Successfully held national, provincial and municipal continuing education training courses and academic conferences, the department of Dermatology in the form of online meetings and network teaching, successfully held the 4th Huanghe Summit Forum of urban agglomeration Dermatology in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, the cloud participants reached a new high, more than 100,000 people, to make due contributions to the popularization of new technology and grass-roots technical personnel training. In addition, through free diagnosis, Internet, television and other information platforms, the center carries out publicity and science popularization of skin-related diseases, and strengthens the public's correct understanding and guidance of skin diseases.

The Center will continue to build an academic platform for open cooperation and resource sharing with flexible and diversified innovation mechanisms, promote the application and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and improve the clinical service capacity and the diagnosis and treatment level of difficult rare diseases.
