Recently, the Science and Technology Department of Hubei Province announced the list of projects approved by the Provincial Natural Science Fund in 2024. Wuhan First Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine (Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine) has been approved a total of 14 projects, including 7 youth projects, 5 general projects and 2 joint fund projects for innovation and development. The direct funds of approved projects are 900,000 yuan, which is the best result in history, and the number and funds of approved projects rank first in Wuhan hospitals.

Based on personnel training, discipline construction and source innovation, Hubei Natural Science Foundation mainly supports scientific research talents, teams and basic research platforms, and carries out forward-looking, original and groundbreaking basic research and applied basic research focusing on major scientific issues and key core technological breakthroughs in the economic and social development of the province. At the same time, it is also one of the important symbols to measure the scientific research strength and scientific and technological innovation ability of hospitals.

In recent years, the Party Committee of Wuhan First Hospital has adhered to the strategy of "rejuvenating the hospital with science and technology and strengthening the hospital with talents", taken the construction of the national "flagship" hospital pilot project of TCM and Western Medicine as an opportunity, innovatively implemented the "Introduction Project of excellent talents" and the "Three trees into forests" medical talent training project, and built "shed" and "greenhouse" for all kinds of medical talents at all levels in accordance with the principle of "one discipline, one policy, one person, one policy". We will stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship. The hospital has successively achieved breakthroughs in innovation group projects and key research and development projects of the Provincial Natural Science Fund, and the projects of the National Natural Science Fund have reached double digits. Of the 14 project leaders approved for the project, 12 are from the hospital's "excellent Bo introduction project" and "three trees into forests" medical talent training project, accounting for 86%.
